Olly Cotterell still has hopes of winning the latest stage of the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race.
Cotterell, who spent many summers sailing with the Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club in Bridlington is on the eighth leg from Brisbane to Singapore.
In an email from his boat to the Free Press last Friday, after reading last week’s coverage of his expolits, Cotterell said: “We are still in first but a late stage wind hole is threatening to unravel all our hard work so far this leg. The crew are still working hard and we will see how the next few days pan out.”
By Tuesday, his One DLL crew were back to third place, but hot on the heels of the leaders Henri Lloyd.
