Captain’s Day at the Links is a big success

Peter Wilkinson hosted his Captain’s Day at Bridlington Links and the format was a familiar one with a shotgun start, half way house and fun and laughter in the clubhouse afterwards.

The competition format was an individual stableford but difficult conditions contributed to some low albeit competitive scoring.

The second division in particular was very close with first, second and third all scoring 36 points. The count back rule worked in favour of Steve Edmond who continued his fine run of form. John Carter was second and Rob Hudson third.

Andy Hall won Division One and also shot the best score of the day with 39 points, made up of 21 points on the front and 18 on the back - solid and consistent.

Ever-present Kevin Wadsworth took second with Andy K Smith taking third.

In Division Three, Maurice Jocelyn, who is in the middle of a purple patch took the honours with 37 points, closely followed by the popular Taffy Davies with 36 points. Mark Hodgkiss was third with 34 points.
