Bridlington Swimming Club travelled to Scarborough for a well organised East Coast League Gala.
It was a close fought match with all Bridlington swimmers swimming well. They supported and encouraged each other throughout the gala.
Driffield took the lead at half time with 75 points, Kingfishers and Bridlington were tied on 63 points.
Driffield continued to impress but were pipped on the last event for Kingfishers to win by the narrowest possible margin. Bridlington finished third and Filey fourth.
This exciting gala produced some fine swims from the Bridlington team.
There were individual wins for Sarah Witty, Adam Morland, Libby Marshall, Katie Nicholson, Matthew Cawkill, Jack Cowell and Josh Tanner.
47 personal best times were achieved across the age groups.
Last weekend Beverley were the hosts for a Ridings League Gala. Another well organised, well supported event in an excellent facility.
This was the last Ridings Gala of the season. Bridlington have had four good galas and have finished second to Beverley in the league.
This gala again produced exceptional overall swims.
Yasmin Brown set new league records in the 50m breaststroke and freestyle races.
Coach Geoff Edmond was pleased with the whole team. At the end of the medley relay block, BSC were in fourth position.
They chipped away at the lead with excellent individual swims.
Libby Marshall, Tom King(2), William Dennis(2), Edward Dennis, Ellie Hughes, Yasmin Brown(2) took first place in their age group and the team of Rose Dennis, Y Brown, K Nicholson, Ellie Hughes won their medley relay.
J Cowell, M Cawkill, E Dennis, T King, K Nicholson, E Hughes, R Dennis, Y Brown, R Manson and Grace Dennis all swam in winning freestyle relay teams.
Result: 1 Beverley 2 Bridlington 3 tied Pocklington and Ryedale.
