BRIDLINGTON ABC have had a very busy start to the new season, with some boxers already competing numerous times.
The club has been travelling far and wide with shows in Liverpool, Stoke-on-Trent and Leamington Spa.
Aaron Boyes, Ben Malone and Darren Boyes all got off to a winning start in their first bouts of the season.
Charlotte Jarvis has boxed twice in two weeks, both ending in her losing out on points decisions, but they were close bouts, and she will get her chance to put the record straight when she faces one of her opponents again at the Spa next month.
Liam Bowtell boxed last week in the Yorkshire final of the CYP boxing championships but lost a close points decision.
Also last week, James Precious made his debut for the club, against Jordan Riding of Hull’s St Paul’s ABC.
It was a close bout but one that the Bridlington boxer came out on top of with a points win. The two will box again at the Spa on November 2
The non-stop schedule shows no sign of slowing down, with bouts planned for Bowtell, Kier Herrgesell, Harvey Rowe and Roan Stanley in the near future.
Next Saturday, Darren Boyes (pictured) will box in the area finals of the CYP Championships then later that same day younger brother Aaron Boyes will take part in an England Select versus Australia Select tournament at the Bonus Arena in Hull.
After all that, the club will then host their own show on November 2 at Bridlington Spa. There will be up to 13 Bridlington boxers on the bill plus an extra bout with Ben Cunningham making his return to boxing.
Tickets for the show are priced at £10 for adults or £5 for under 11s and can be obtained from Damien on 07912 067044 or direct from the Spa box office.
