It was a blustery morning at Sewerby on Saturday for the weekend’s Parkrun but this did not stop Danny Brunton from storming home in first place and also recording a personal best time of 17:57.

Brunton was followed in third place by Nick Hellewell with 18:48.

Peter Gulc and Martin Smith finished very close together, with Gulc just eight seconds ahead in fourth place with 19:11, as Smith settled for fifth.

Zoe Williams cracked her PB time, finishing in 34th place in 26:51 and, making a welcome return to racing, Dave Foster was 31st in 26:17.

Also running were Kevin Sissons (12th) 22:13, Kevin Lewis (21st) 23:40, Stuart Atkinson (25th) 24:54 and Ben Smith (30th) 26:14.

On the same morning, five Bridlington Road Runners members were enjoying the sunny conditions of the Knavesmire at the York Parkrun and recorded two personal best times.

Andy Baker finished in 23rd place with 19:41 and Simon Porter was 36th in 20:45.

Ashley Porter recorded a PB of 21:32 in 50th position, which is a wonderful time for someone still in the JM14 category.

Kirsten Porter was 146th in 29:57 and Amanda Tindall did herself proud with a PB of 30:03 in 147th place.

It was the City of Hull Champagne League, Kiplingcotes Six Mile Handicap last Tuesday evening.

Stuart Spooner took part in the seventh race of the series. This was a handicap race and Spooner finished 61st, posting an actual time of 39:03 and, after being given a handicap of 34:30, his finishing time was 1:13:33.
