Bridlington golfer Alex Belt will spend three months in Cambodia as part of his winter training programme.

Having spent previous winters in Spain, the 30-year-old will head to the Far East as part of his preparations for the 2016 season.

He will be based at the Angkor Golf Resort, which features a course designed by Nick Faldo, and said: “The course and facilities are world-class. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to be associated with the resort.”

As well as working on his own game, Belt will provide tuition to guests and be involved with coaching local youngsters.

“This will be my first visit to Cambodia and I’m really excited to get started. I am very impressed with what they are doing for junior golf development and I’d be more than happy to help in any way,” he added.

Belt thanked his local sponsors Nicholas Belt Estate Agents, Lloyd Dowson and Pineapple Joe’s for their continued support.
