LAST Saturday was the running of the immensely popular Flaneburg Master Open at Flamborough Head Golf Club, where over 100 golfers competed to win the coveted Blue Jacket for the lowest nett score on the day.
This competition has been running for over a quarter of a century and throughout that period it has had the same sponsor.
This year’s winner was Flamborough Head member Steve Armitage with a score of 79, nett 67.
He is pictured above, accepting his trophy and his prize of a Pro Series cart bag from Motocaddy, from captain Alan Totty.
Runner up, just one shot back, was the man who arranged the sponsorship with the Flaneburg Hotel for the first ever competition.
That was Richard Traves (above right), again from Flamborough Head with a score of 79, nett 68.
In third place from Wath Golf Club was G Wright 90, nett 70 and fourth with the lowest gross on the day of 74, nett 70, was M France from Hornsea Golf Club.
