The final of the Home Guard Cricket Cup sees Bridlington 3rds take on Mulgrave this Sunday at Forge Valley
Neither side have won this trophy before, indeed Mulgrave CC are in their first season in the Derwent Valley League and currently stand at the top of Division A.
They will start as favourites against a Bridlington 3rds side who lie in mid-table in Division B, however the completion has often been won by the underdogs and Bridlington 3rds are running into good form.
They reached the final after beating local rivals Sewerby 3rds, Kirbymoorside 2nds, Flixton 3rds and finally Fylingdales 2nds in the semi-final.
Mulgrave reached the final after beating Lockton, Great Habton, Muston and, in the semi-final, Nawton Grange 2nds by a comfortable seven wickets.
Forge Valley has hosted the final in all but two of its 40-year existence.
The umpires for the final are Pete Wannop and John Flinton who will also judge the man of the match award.
Brian Judson, secretary of the Home Guard Club in Scarborough, will present the trophies at the end of the game
A raffle will be held at the final for league funds.
