Front-runners go head-to-head in Cayley Cup

Bridlington 2nds hope to secure the first half of a league and cup double when they head to North Marine Road in Scarborough on Sunday.

They face Fylingdales in the final of the Division Two Cayley Cup T20 competition, in a battle of the top two in the league.

The two sides will also meet in the league the following Saturday, with Bridlington currently six points ahead.

Andy Leeson’s side beat Ebberston 2nds in the quarter-finals and then secured a place in the final in a thrilling tie at Ganton.

The last four match had to be rescheduled and when it was finally played, Bridlington got through on the final ball of the game.

Fylingdales had to see off Ravenscar in the preliminary round, before they beat Great Habton and Scalby 2nds to book their place at the showpiece occasion.

The game starts at 3pm, following the conclusion of the Division Three final between Kirkbymoorside and Seamer 2nds.

Fred Bernard and Tony Graves will be the umpires.

The team bus leaves Bridlington Sports and Community Club at 1pm, picking up at the Dog and Duck in Flamborough at 1.15 pm.
