Bridlington Town got back to training this week, after announcing seven pre-season friendlies, six of which will be played at Queensgate.
Manager Gary Allanson has confirmed that all of last season’s squad have committed to the Seasiders for the 2016/17 campaign and he is looking for a handful of new recruits to bolster his squad.
The friendlies begin at Hall Road Rangers, who are managed by former Town midfielder Dave Ricardo, on Tuesday, July 12.
Leeds United under 18s are sending a team to Queensgate for a 2pm kick off on Saturday, July 16, with Westella and Willerby arriving on Wednesday, July 20.
There will be a repeat of the East Riding Senior Cup final on Saturday, July 23 when Conference newcomers North Ferriby United visit Bridlington and Sheffield United’s academy side provide the opposition four days later.
Last season’s NCEl champions Tadcaster Albion will provide a good test for Allanson’s men on Saturday, July 30, before the final friendly at home to Sculcoates Amateurs on the following Tuesday.
“We have managed to get some really good friendlies for pre-season that will test us in different ways,” said Allanson.
“There is a real positive vibe around the club, along with the Reserves who also had a fantastic season winning their own league, and hopefully we can get three or four of their players pushing to get involved with the first team and keep building the close relationship we have created.
“All the players have committed for next season so we just need three or four good additions to make the squad stronger in depth. We have had really good interest from players and we have invited three or four down in pre-season, but no announcements will be made until they have signed all the forms, the i’s are dotted and the t’s crossed.”
