Langtoft 0

Driffield League Challenge Cup

Langtoft were very quick to start, breaking through the defence but found keeper Andy Broughton in good form.

After a slow start, Tigers started to concentrate with the football on the pitch, Dale Nelthorpe and fellow midfielder Lee Clark dominating the game, and widemen Chris Dixon and Jason Ridley knocking some quality balls into the box for strikers Neil Freeman and Darren Wilde.

With half time closing in Langtoft gave away a corner for Davey to play in Wilde with a sweet flick on for Neil Freeman to fire home.

In the second half, Tigers were freshened up after having a tweak of their formation, but most of the game was end to end football with both teams trying to score.

Langtoft’s defence were keeping the Tigers forwards under control but the home side’s defence and midfield carried on passing the ball around creating chances.

Wilde made way for Johnathan Burgess, who with a spring in his step came close to adding a second

Referee Mick Baker made some fair decisions as both teams battled it out to the end with some really good football.

Tigers’ manager’s comments: “Verena can run the line any time! Keep up the good work Tigers.”
