Flamborough Eagles clinched promotion on a thrilling final day of the Hull Boys Sunday League.
They went into their game against Springhead, knowing they had to win, and hope that champions Driffield Tigers would do them a favour at second-placed Swanland.
The Eagles did their bit, winning 6-1, and Driffield came up trumps too, beating Swanland 4-2, to allow Flamborough to leapfrog them into the second promotion place.
Flamborough come out strongly and got an early goal to settle their nerves when Dalton Partington went on a solo run past three players and beat the goalkeeper.
Springhead couldn’make an impression on the game and Josh Garbutt and Jamie Winn linked up to send Partington through and he doubled the lead.
But the visitors pulled a goal back before half time, meaning there was plenty of work to do after the break.
Josh Pybus started and finished a move involving Olly Clay to give them breathing space
From then on, it was one-way traffic. Liam Tyreman played the ball out of defence to Jordan Wilkes, who found Dylan Jennison and his shot from outside the box made it 4-1.
Keeper Jordan Strand started the move for the fifth, which came when Ryan Cockerill crossed in for Pybus to get his second of the game.
It was six when Dru Hall went on a run and passed to Riley Simpson.
Simpson released Cockerill and his cross was met by Brendan Morris who side-footed into the corner of the net.
Eagles are looking for new players for their new season in the Wyke Division. Anyone intersted can call manager Craig Pitten on 07414 247708.
