The first Major Carpets eight-a-side tournament in Flamborough took place last Saturday.
With the late withdrawal of Snooker Centre and Driffield Red Lion, the competition had to be revised at the last minute.
The remaining eight teams all played each other once with Bridlington Rovers, Bridlington Excelsiors, Bridlington Tigers and Stirling Wandererss all making it to the semi finals.
The final came down to unbeaten Excelsiors playing Stirling and it was Stirling who won the final 2-0 to become the first winners of the trophy.
It was perhaps justice as Stirling lost a player early in the day to what looked a very bad injury and all who were involved in the day wish him well.
Many thanks go to all the people who helped make this a successful day and to all sponsors including Major Carpets and Mr and Mrs Marshall for the trophies.
