Bridlington Rovers became the fourth team to lead the Driffield League Premier Division this season, after an ominous 7-1 win over Forester Athletic 2nds.
They were able to leapfrog Stirling Wanderers, who were beaten 3-1 at home by Forester’s first team.
The only Division One match saw Bridlington Snooker Centre beat Flamborough 2nds 2-1.
In the East Riding Senior Cup, Bridlington Town came through a tricky second round tie at Humber Premier League side Crown.
They eventually came out on top 5-3, with Paul Wray scoring twice for the Seasiders on his debut.
Bridlington Sports Club are out though, going down 2-1 at York Premier Division champions Riccall United.
In the Qualifying Country Cup, Coachman lost 4-2 at Settrington despite an improved performance, while in the Junior Country Cup, Burton Agnes were beaten 3-2 at Filey Town Reserves and Mermaid United Old Boys were sunk 8-0 by Pocklington Town 2nds.
Both Bridlington teams in the East Riding County League Premier Division had a bad day.
Bridlington Town Reserves’ 100% record disappeared at Swinefleet, who ran out 5-2 winners, and their nearest rivals at the top of the table, St George’s cut the gap to two points after a 4-2 win over Bridlington Sports Club County
