Bridlington Town Reserves could go nine points clear at the top of East Riding County League Premier Division if they beat their closest rivals at the weekend.

They are due to face second placed Beverley Town Reserves, and will be confident of wrapping up the double, having won 3-0 in Beverley last month.

Bridlington Sports Club County are due to face Goole United Reserves at Dukes Park, with their first team back in Humber Premier League action, as they are due to face Chalk Lane.

However, the weather forecast does not look promising.

The Driffield League has announced that all its fixtures on council-owned pitches this weekend have already been postponed, after days of heavy rain left pitches waterlogged.

That means Gypsey Road and Matson Road will be out of action.

The only Premier Division game which may survive is Burton Agnes v Stirling Wanderers.
