Bridlington Rovers faced Driffield Star after a couple of defeats and were looking to get back to winning ways.
They raced into a 3-0 lead after only 10 minutes on the clock with Trev Tindall getting two and Scott Lapworth scoring a cracker.
It looked like being a cricket score but Star recovered from a poor start to pull a goal back which made Rovers twitchy and they looked uncomfortable as some sloppy defending allowed the visitors to get a second.
Rovers’ reaction was good as Aiden Jones scored the home team’s fourth after some good individual work on the right.
The hosts were back in control and Tindall completed his hat-trick before the break showing composure in front of goal.
The second half was much more even as Star worked harder and managed to get a third goal after a mix up at the back but the home team never looked in danger of letting it slip and Broadbent headed in to make it 6-3.
