Driffield League Division Two
QUAY returned to the top of the division with a workmanlike performance over their Driffield opponents.
The home side again were slow out of the blocks and had to rely on Belam and Hall at the back to deny the away team a clear run on goal.
Twenty minutes in though, Quay on a playing surface they have now become accustomed to, found their rhythm and opened the scoring as Pickering beat two players and unleashed a shot that hit the back of the net after a slight deflection off a Driffield defender.
Quay found themselves further ahead in a matter of minutes with Banks again on the mark with a low drive from the edge of the area.
The home side should have been three up at half-time but Waites saw his attempt go agonisingly wide.
The second half began with Quay looking to put the game out of reach and on the hour mark they did just that.
A free-kick was awarded just over the halfway line and Hoyle, seeing the keeper off his line, struck his shot from almost 40 yards and saw it creep in just under the crossbar.
Although the game was more or less over, Driffield tried for a consolation goal and almost pulled one back but Day in the Quay net made sure the home team kept a clean sheet.
This was a satisfactory performance from Quay who were just glad to be back to winning ways.
