Another budding goalkeeper from Bridlington has been snapped up by Hull City’s academy.
Kornel Misciur has been snapped up by the Tigers after a number of eye-catching performances for Burlington Jackdaws Under-Nines last season.
Dad Lukasz said: “He is excited, which kid wouldn’t be when they can play for Hull City, a Premier League club?
“Kornel started playing when he was four and started up front but when he was five, we knew we had a star goalkeeper.”
The Burlington School pupil is a Manchester United supporter but says his favourite keepers are Germany’s Manuel Neuer and Italy’s Gianluigi Buffon.
After two years of training with former Hull City goalkeeper Gavin Kelly, he signed for the Tigers last month and will team up with The Tigers four times a week, playing matches each Sunday.
Burlington Jackdaws director Chris Kirkham said: “Kornel is now the seventh Jackdaw to have signed for Hull City.
“He joins Louis Beckett and Stanley Hewitt who remain at the club, for his first season, after three great years with us.
“An exciting goalkeeper and a real character who has progressed quickly over the last season, he leaves us to follow the next stage of his goalkeeping development.
“The club, and his team-mates, wish him all the best for the future and rest assured he would always be welcome back.
“We look forward to seeing him action.”
