It is rare that a hurricane disrupts Bridlington Town’s plans.
But the storms brought by the remains of Hurricane Gonzalo, which swept across Britain on Tuesday, meant The Seasiders’ midweek match at Liversedge was postponed, because of a waterlogged pitch.
The knock-on effect is that skipper Tom Fleming and Chris Jenkinson, who were due to miss the trip to West Yorkshire through suspension, now have to sit out Saturday’s visit of high-flying Heanor Town.
It is Town’s first home game in almost a month. Kick off at Queensgate is at 3pm.
