PREPARATIONS are continuing for two Bradford City fans to cycle from Bridlington Town’s Queensgate stadium to Valley Parade.
Bantams supporters Jonnie Carrington and Tony Silburn are biking to their team’s game against Rotherham next month, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Relief and the Bradford Burns Unit.
The pair have decided to make the 103-mile trip the day before the game, rather than cycling through the night.
Jonnie said: “We sat down and thought it would be safer to ride in the day and that biking all through the night would be more tiring.
“We have arranged a fund-raising night at the Seabirds on Friday, February 1 and we’ve been given prizes from the Expanse Hotel, Quay Carpets and also Sewerby Grange, where I work.
“After having the original article in the paper, the Seabirds got a phone call offering some DJing services for free.
“Friends of Bradford City have got involved which is good and also Premier Inn have offered us a room for free.
“I’m just waiting on Bradford to let me know about biking into the stadium on the matchday before kick off.”
Sponsor forms for donations are available from the Free Press office in Prospect Street.
