Bridlington Town manager Gary Allanson was pleased with the way his side ground out their 2-0 win at Liversedge in the NCEL on Saturday.
“It was a hard fought win on Saturday for us, not pretty at all and the blustery wind and bobbly pitch didn’t help matters.
“Ashley Allanson wasn’t available due to work commitments and Jarrod Smalley was also unavailable. Defensively as a team we did really well and we were very difficult to break down.
“We could have been better in possession with a little more quality but the conditions didn’t help and Liversedge were very direct.
“They worked really hard to be fair to them and were full of confidence after their fantastic 1-0 away win at Shaw Lane in midweek and never gave up but they never had a worthwhile shot on goal.
“It was good to get a second clean sheet on the bounce and that makes it only one defeat in our last 10 games with us winning eight of them so the momentum is building.”
Eddy Birch and Tom Fleming got the Seasiders’ goals at Liversedge.
