Bridlington Town’s final friendly looks set to be their toughest test as they take on Scarborough Athletic at Queensgate on Saturday.
Scarborough have impressed so far in pre-season and will be one of the favourites for the Evo-Stick Division One title.
Seasiders manager Gary Allanson said: “Scarborough have made some very good signings and are looking a really strong, solid unit and should be pushing for the promotion places.
“Paul Foot and Bryan Hughes are building are a very good team and it will be a very difficult test for us on Saturday, hopefully we will have two or three returning from holidays and injuries so we can make it as competitive as possible.
“This will be our last game before the league starts the following Saturday so it should enable us to put the final pieces in the jigsaw.”
Athletic won 4-2 at Pickering on Tuesday night, and joint manager Foot said: “We are now heading towards August 15, so we will field a strong team with strong subs.
“As it has been in the past between Boro and Brid, it’s all about the bragging rights for the fans.
“It will also give us the chance to show why we are playing our football a division above them.”
“It should be a good game of football, which will allow us to introduce our new lads to Queensgate because this will be our first game there this pre-season.
“Hopefully we’ll get a good turn-out of fans as well.”
