Bridlington Town have announced that former manager Gary Allanson is returning to take charge at Queensgate.
Allanson is hugely popular with the Seasiders supporters after guiding the team to the NCEL Premier Division title in 2010.
He had agreed to be assistant manager at Winterton Rangers for the forthcoming season, but the opportunity to succceed Mitch Cook as Town boss proved too attractive.
Chairman Peter Smurthwaite said: “ We are pleased to announce Gary Allanson will be taking over as first team Manager with immediate effect, Gary is well known to all at the club having previously managed the team.
“He will be taking over a strong squad of players that has been built up by Mitch Cook and we hope all the players will commit themselves to the club for the coming season.
“We had to move quickly to fill the position to keep the continuity that has been part of the success in recent seasons and we are very pleased Gary has agreed to take up the position.
“Further announcements with regard to pre-season friendlies and training will be announced as soon as possible.”
