SEWERBY Cricket Club continue their preparations for the summer season this weekend with a work party at the clifftop ground.

It may not feel like cricket weather, but all players are expected at the club on Sunday at 10am, to get the facilities ready for the 2013 campaign, which starts later this month. All players must let captains or Vince O’Grady know availability.

Weather permitting, outdoor nets start on Monday at 6pm and continue every Monday and Friday, with junior nets beginning on Tuesday at 6pm.

The club’s first friendly will be held on Sunday 21 April, and another has been pencilled in for the following weekend. The first XI begin their season in the York Senior League Premier Division on Saturday 27 April, while the 2nds, 3rds and 4ths all kick off on Saturday 4 May.

Club subscriptions have stayed the same for 2013 and are now due. Senior players pay £15, or £35 after 30 April, non-players pay £10, intermediate players and juniors pay £15.
