THE cricket season comes to a close on Saturday, with Bridlington and Sewerby’s first teams playing their final fixtures.
Bridlington host Pickering at Dukes Park, while Sewerby, who have already clinched promotion from York Senior League Division One, round off their programme at Hull Zingari.
On Sunday, Bridlington play the President’s XI in the annual end-of-season fixture.
In football, the Driffield League kicks off with its new format of two divisions. Among the games at gypsey Road is the Premier League clash between Bridlington Snooker Centre and Stirling Wanderers. At Queensgate, Bridlington Town begin a run of five successive home fixtures when Arnold Town make the long trip from Nottinghamshire to the East Coast. The Seasiders are also at home on Tuesday night against Pickering Town.
In the Humber Premier League, Bridlington Sports Club are away at Bransholme Athletic, while Bridlington Town Reserves are home to Sculcoates Amateurs in the East Riding County League.
After a winning start last weekend, Bridlington RUFC travel to York.
