Ebberston’s Ian Atkinson produced memorable figures of 7-19 as Beckett League Premier division title hopefuls Heslerton were stunned by a six-wicket defeat.

Heslerton were reduced to just 98 all out by Atkinson, who ripped through their usually reliable batting line-up.

Veteran Ady Turnbull posted a match-winning unbeaten half-century to finish the job for Ebberston.

Staxton are now 24 points clear of Heslerton at the top after their win by six wickets against Seamer.

Anthony Jenkinson hit 67 as Seamer progressed to 168-5, Andrew Holtby taking three of the wickets to fall.

Nick Gibson contributed 35 to lead the reply, before Paul Witty and Linden Gray both remained undefeated in the 40s to help Staxton past their target.

Staithes crawled away from the wrong end of the table when they beat Forge Valley by two wickets.

Knocks of 88 from Tom Brough and 69 from Dave Morris carried Valley to a solid 200-2 from their overs.

Rich Hegarty’s top score of 67 made sure Staithes took the lion’s share of the points, though spells from C Jackson (3-36) and J White (4-32) pushed them very close.

Overseas ace Jacques Budricks had a useful afternoon as Kirkbymoorside beat Cayton by four wickets.

Jake McAleese (53) hit exactly half of Cayton’s finishing total of 106 as Budricks took 5-22 and Dan Jeminson bagged 3-26.

Col Denton’s four wickets gave Kirkby a few nervy moments in their retort, but Budricks’ 45 helped to force them over the line.

There were some hugely impressive performances by Sherburn and Cloughton in division A as the former won the clash by 71 runs.

Sherburn powered their way to 301-7 thanks to Craig Sanderson’s 146 and Jordan Wharton’s 35. Pete Milner was the top Cloughton bowler with 3-49.

A Leeman’s 101 put Cloughton on track, but Mike Holtby’s six-wicket haul made sure the relegation strugglers dropped off the pace.

Brompton jumped away from the wrong end of the table after their win by 31 runs against Settrington.

Brompton looked in trouble at the half-way stage, as Jon Huntsman and Andy Monkman both took three wickets to see them off for 120.

Karl Theobald struck 40 of those runs.

Settrington’s innings was torn to shreds by the bowling of Ross Triffit, whose 7-48 reduced them to 89-9.

Scalby stretched their advantage at the head of the pile after their win by four wickets against second-placed Grindale.

Richard Jackson struck 44 and Steve Battams made 60 as Grindale moved along to a score of 151-6.

T Jackson’s three wickets gave Scalby plenty to think about, but an unbeaten 54 from Brad Walker and Jon Barton’s 44 made sure of their success.

Nawton Grange proved to be too strong for Wykeham, winning their game by four wickets.

Chris Bateman’s 46 was the top batting effort for Wykeham in the face of figures of 4-23 from Nick Thornicroft and 3-21 from P Wilson.

J Pickard and C Allott both posted scores in the 20s as Grange edged their way over the winning line.

Wold Newton flexed their muscles as they crushed Sewerby 2nds by 139 runs.

Mike Southwell’s 80, Charles Gray’s 30 and 31 from Jon Knaggs took Newton to 246-6.

Oliver West then took six wickets and M Holtby claimed three more as Sewerby crashed to 107.

In division B, Mulgrave suffered only their second defeat of the campaign, as Fylingdales toppled them by six wickets.

N Gibson hit 39 as Mulgrave reached just 104, mainly due to Pete Stentiford’s 3-44.

R Grove was unbeaten on 70 as Fylingdales marched to the success.

Cayton 2nds are still a fair way behind Mulgrave in second, despite their 41-run victory against Ganton.

Simon Glave hit 47 as Cayton trudged to an attainable 127-9. R Bannister and J Richardson both picking up three wickets each.

Steve McAleese and Jed Ward then took three wickets each of their own to gun down Ganton for 86.

Forge Valley 2nds’ win against Bridlington 2nds by nine wickets turned out to be a three-man show.

Josh Gretton’s 4-12 helped to bowl out Brid for just 115, then Eric Hall was undefeated on 50 and Andrew Toal on 46 as Valley cruised to the victory.

Staxton 2nds had too much for Ryedale as they won by seven wickets.

Ryedale pushed on to 192-8 thanks to Ian Smith’s 57 and Dan Hardey’s 59. Chris Brown returned 4-21, while J Grover took 3-54.

Matty Pearson then contributed 78 and Andy Dove smashed 49 to push Staxton to the win.

Thornton Dale collected a comfortable victory by 148 runs against Scarborough 3rds.

Dale ploughed on to a strong score of 261-7, with Ian Farrow remaining undefeated on 59, M Clark hitting 44, Ollie Sigsworth striking 37 and Gareth hunt going one better on 38.

Martin North’s 42 and Brad Milburn’s 31 gave Scarborough hope, but the figures of 4-15 from Chris Headlam soon ended their plans.

Wykeham 2nds improved their outside hopes of promotion from division C when they beat Seamer 2nds by five wickets.

Pete Shepherdson was in impressive form as he struck 124 of Wykeham’s 239-5. Andy Shepherdson added 66, while Phil Metcalfe claimed 3-47.

This was in reply to Seamer’s 237-4, in which Metcalfe and D Allen both reached the 80s and G Dixon chipped in with 39.

Ebberston 2nds picked up a win by seven wickets against Fylingdales 2nds.

Guy Shrimpton’s unbeaten 53 was the highlight for Fylingdales in their 103.
