Unbeaten league leaders Studley Royal were the visitors to the clifftop on Saturday.

Taking first knock, they lost a wicket to the second ball off the innings, but then a quick-fire 43 from Blackburn saw them to 76/2 after only 13 overs.

A partnership of 96 between Walmsley and Craven took them forward but tight bowling by Shaun Acton and Lewis Beasley kept the flow of runs under control.

Walmsley was eventually out for 78 and Craven departed for 53 and at the end of their 50 overs, Studley had reached 219/6.

In the absence of regular opener Luke Jennison, Beasley went to the crease with skipper Ben Dobson, Both batted beautifully and put on 86 for the first wicket in 22 overs before Beasley was out for 40. Dobson followed in the next over for the same score.

Chris Chapman found his form, hitting 36 before he was given out LBW.

This left Sewerby at 153/4 and needing 67 to win from the final 11 overs.

Ricky Robinson joined Mike Aetley and sensible batting and good running ensured Sewerby kept up with the required rate.

The hosts needed 31 from the last four overs but Robinson scored 13 from the 47th over and a six in the next eased the pressure.

Only two were required from the last over and Artley hit the first ball for four to seal an excellent victory. Artley was 45 not out and Robinson unbeaten on 42.
