FILEY Town beat neighbours Hunmanby 2-0 in last night's Scarborough FA District Cup final at Bridlington Town's Queensgate ground, but the game will be remembered for all the wrong reasons after late trouble.
Hunmanby dominated the early stages and had two glorious chances which were wasted, while they also had penalty appeals turned down.

Filey took the lead against the run of play when Phil Dickens superbly volleyed home a corner 15 minutes before the break.

With 15 minutes left Filey sealed the game when Lee Elvidge left the keeper with no chance after a superb move.

After that goal, and several bookings in the game, Hunmanby's Chris Crawford was giving his marching orders, but rather than accepting the referee's decision he promptly withdrew the red card from the official's hand and then reacted to chants from the opposing fans by jumping over the barrier into the Filey supporters, and a scuffle followed.

Christian Johnson was outstanding for Filey, while the game marked the final match for teammate Shaun Welburn, who skippered the side on his farewell appearance.
