York Senior Division One
Driffield226/6
Bridlington 8/0
HEAVY rain ended the game at Dukes Park just after the tea interval when Bridlington had just started their innings chasing a Driffield total of 226/6.
Bridlington had won the toss and put Driffield in to bat and after the early loss of Mick Drury for seven, Mark Clarkson, Chris Chapman and Will Norman all batted well for Driffield to put up a formidable total.
Bridlington finally began their reply after a longish interval but the rain returned with Bridlington eight without loss to bring proceedings to an early close.
Both captains were keen to continue but the weather had the last word.

Beckett League Division A
Snainton182
Bridlington 2nd105/8
BRIDLINGTON made the trip to newly promoted Snainton on Saturday where the home team batted first and got off to a flyer with Eyer and Oakley hitting the ball to all parts with a shot a ball.
When old war horse Andy Brown and young Philip Elliott came into the attack wickets began to fall, Brown capturing three and Elliott four. Ten overs were lost to rain encouraging the home batsmen to hit out even more. Ryan Nicholls held three good catches at long off to bring the Snainton innings to a close on 182.
With more rain during tea 20 minutes were lost and the once good wicket became difficult as Bridlington started their reply.
They lost wickets at regular intervals slumping to 80/6 before more rain.
With two minutes left before play would be abandoned for the day the umpires took to the field and Snainton quickly took two more wickets.
With Bridlington on the brink of defeat, rain saved the day as the game was abandoned.
Simon Brooke top scored for Bridlington with 31.
