Another successful competition for Bridlington/Millau petanque players took place at Huntington (York), where, for the third time a member of the Bridlington club took first place. On this occasion it was Christine Cann who, partnered by Mike Anderson (Brandesburton), won the 'over 50s' winning all their 5 games.
Twelve teams took part including 6 members from Bridlington. Congratulations to Christine it was a good result on such a hot day.

The next competition to be held at the Bridlington club is a 3 day event on August 23/24/25 which is an open event. Anyone wishing to enter should contact Peter Thompson tel (01262) 605708

Our submitted picture shows Christine Cann and Mike Anderson receiving their trophy from Huntington’s Dennis Woodcock (right).

THE Bridlington/Millau Petanque Club played host to visitors from Millau on Friday with some excellent boule played by everyone, this was not a competition but a day of fun for all who attended.

Although the game of boule is a French sport the visitors were impressed by the standard of play at Bridlington.

Millau is the French town twinned with Bridlington.

The club would like to thank members for the buffet which was laid on for the visitors and thanks go to the French for making it an enjoyable day.
