Flamborough160
Lockton154
After the last two weeks had been rained off it was good to be able to play a full game after a long journey to Lockton near Dalby Forest.
Andrew Leeson won the toss and decided to bat first but Boro got off to a po
or start and lost two quick wickets and a third when the score was 42.
This brought Andrew Leeson and Marcos Garcia together and they batted very well with Leeson making use of the very small boundaries hitting six 4s and three 6s in a well-crafted 62. Garcia also batting very well for 34. Then came another mid-order collapse until Will Traves and Sam Waines came to the crease and took the score past 150 to get three batting points. The innings closed on 160 all out.
Pick of the bowlers was Boyes with five wickets.
The Lockton innings got off to a similar start losing twowickets with Dave Sellers and Mark Davies taking one each. Hill and Welburn put on 65 for the third wicket until Martin Holmes bowled a tight spell and finally finding some bowling form on a Saturday taking three wickets in his 11-over spell to break up the partnership.
The home side were still looking to overhaul Flamborough's total as they started to increase the scoring rate but Davies came back into the attack, and started to clean up the tail. The match went down to the final ball of the game with Lockton wanting six to tie but Davies had other ideas and bowled the last man to give Flamborough a well-deserved win.
