Once again heavy rain played havoc with Saturday's fixtures. Worst hit, undoubtedly, was Division One with not one of the scheduled fixtures commencing.
In contrast Division Two had all their matches completed - unfortunately only three. Pick of the performances must go to Dalton Holme who took on second placed Walkington and gave them a good beating. Dalton scored 107 for 7 with Darran Williamson and Andy Kingdom each scoring 31 and Skidby's T Ford taking 4 for 28. Fireworks followed from the veteran Dalton bowlers - Martin Gamble's fine spell earned him 7 wickets for 20 runs and Darren Williams followed his prowess with 3 wickets for 7 runs. This included a treble wicket maiden, the first in his 30 years bowling for the club.

Leven, too had a good win at the expense of Skidby. Mark Londesborough was the top scorer with 40 runs in their total of 143 for 7. M Vodden then kept the visitors at bay, taking 4 for 54 and leading Leven to a handsome victory.

In the remaining match, Brandesburton found Hessle too strong for them. Peter Noble (31) and Ian Holdstock (32) contributed well to Hessle's score of 176 for 7 then R Callis tore the heart out of the Brandesburton batting, ending with 5 for 18 before they finished on 113 for 9.

There was little action in Division Three where only one match was played - that between Newport and Hutton Cranswick, but this turned out to be a cracker. For Newport D Branston and C Sellar each took four Hutton Cranswick wickets and they ended up 108 all out. However, Cranswick's Hatton took 6 quick wickets as Newport were reduced to 95 for 8. R Yates never-the-less remained firm until the ninth wicket fell and the scores level. The last run was scrambled and Newport had won.
