The new season gets under way in the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League on Saturday with last season's Division Two champions Bridlington set to make their debut in Division One against Folkton & Flixton at Dukes Park (1pm).
A significant new signing is Stephen Winterbottom, who has joined from Driffield’s Yorkshire League side. Stephen is the brother of current Bridlington player Ian, and the pair made an impact in their friendly win at Driffield on Sunday, with both retiring on reaching a half century.

It will be a tough season for the Dukes Park outfit, but should be a thoroughly entertaining one, with some interesting fixtures ahead. They include derby games against Beverley, Driffield, Pocklington, Hornsea and Saturday’s opening fixture, which is followed the week after by a trip to Pocklington.

From tonight, Thursday, April 24, Bridlington Cricket Club will hold outdoor nets at Dukes Park every weekday evening except Tuesdays when they will continue to be held at Jim Tennant’s, Fraisthorpe.
