BUDDING authors were given a few hints and tips by a children's writer when he dropped in at Bridlington School.
Alan Gibbons, who won a Blue Peter Award for his book Shadow of the Minotaur and who has written several other books on up-to-date issues such as racial inequality and abuse but designed for young readers, held two writing workshops at the school.
Around 50 year seven and 50 year eight students learned about the art of writing at workshops covering style, vocabulary and how to get their stories across to readers.
