I am most pleased to say this year’s Bridlington Summer Festival up in the old town which took place on Sunday 12 June was indeed brilliant.

I most certainly enjoyed every minute of it.

Sorry I did not have any gents 1940s clothing and shoes but I do own an original black billicock which is otherwise best known as a bowler hat.

For those who were dressed in 1940s clothes, shoes and hats and those in military clothing, eg army and navy uniforms most certainly looked the part, and so did one or two men I saw dressed in the civilian policeman’s uniform.

I very much appreciated all the market stalls, all the musical entertainment, exhibitions and everything else regarding this year’s old town summer festival.

It was also so good to see the festival bought in so many visitors from far and near enjoying every minute of it while it was here.

The weather did rather so well to stay and remain dry throughout the festival itself until it began to start spitting bits of rain at 17.35pm for a short time.

I remained outside watching and listening to singer and guitarist Ruby perform until 18.30pm. I even purchased one of her CDs and so did my mate who was with me and my missus and his own fianceè.

Let’s hope we have another excellent festival again soon.
