Have your say

As a veteran of the Royal Navy Submarine service, can I say a massive thank you to all that turned out on Sunday and marched, lined the route or just attended the service.

I can honestly say it’s the biggest turnout I have seen in years.

As a member of the Bridlington branch of the Royal British Legion and deputy Poppy Appeal organiser for Bridlington, can I thank everyone who kept the entrance to the memorial clear, allowing the parade, but more importantly the youngest on parade, to see the service as they are the future of Remembrance and seeing it all go on will ensure it happens in years to come.

I asked around yesterday if anyone had any problems with the laying of the wreaths in threes and everyone I spoke said it was a lot easier and and there wasn’t the embarrassment of a name being called out and no one laying a wreath.

I understand that some people could not hear the service and will give this feedback to those involved, it could just be that the wind did not help.

Once I have the total raised I will let the town know.
