World Book Day is the time of the year when children can become their favourite characters - meaning an army of Harry Potters, princesses and superheroes will take over the school.
Despite being in its 18th year, book-lovers have been very imaginative when it comes to costumes in Bridlington with a number of schools taking part in various litrerature-based fun activities.
Flamborough School took part in a huge bedtime read where the children came to school in their pajamas with a pillow, a teddy and their favourite book.
They were all together in the main hall where they read books and had stories told to them before taking part in a number of activities in class.
The day is designated by UNESCO in over 100 countries to encourage children to discover new authors, illustrators, books and all kinds of reading.
Many children will receive a £1 voucher to spend at school book fairs on special titles or to put towards buying another book.
