There will be a real treat for fans of the X Factor in Bridlington, after the Spa announced that former winner Joe McElderry will head to the venue this summer.
Geordie Joe will perform performing all his hits at the Spa Royal Hall on July 27.
Joe rose to fame when he won the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009, where he was mentored by fellow north easterner, Cheryl Cole.
Andrew Aldis, general manager of The Spa, said: “This is the first live gig we can confirm for the summer season, with more big announcements to follow. It’s great news for the town and region, demonstrating The Spa Bridlington as the premier entertainment venue on the Yorkshire coast.”
McElderry debut single The Climb reached number one in the UK and Irish singles chart.
Joe returned to TV screens and won the second series of ITV show Pop Star to Opera Star in 2011, receiving 80% of the voting throughout the series.
Recently, Joe has played to audiences in across Britain as well as performing for the Queen at the annual festival of remembrance.
With over 350,000 Twitter followers, it is expected his tickets will sell fast.
They are available for £18 for adults, £14 for under 14s and a family ticket - two adults, two children - for £45.
