Women punched

TWO women and a man were left bloodied after allegedly being punched in the face by two men they refused to give a cigarette to.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened in Regent Terrace, Bridlington, in the early hours of Saturday and left the victims with cuts and bruises.

The two women, aged 21 and 30, from Bridlington, were walking with a 45-year-old man when they were approached by two men believed to be in their early 20s, who asked them for a cigarette.

When the group refused, the 45-year-old man was punched to the ground by the younger men. When the two women tried to help him, they were also punched.

The suspects are described as white, one of them had short, dark hair and was wearing a red checked shirt.
