A woman believed to be in her 70s has died after police cordoned off Queen Street in Bridlington.

A woman has sadly died after police cordoned off a street in Bridlington town centre.

Police say the woman, thought to be in her 70s, suddenly became ill while walking on Queen Street, before collapsing at 11.30am today (Tuesday January 10).

Officers then closed the road as ambulances and emergency vehicles tended to the woman.

Sadly, police have now confirmed she passed away shortly after receiving treatment by paramedics.

A police spokesman said: "Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will now be prepared for the coroner."
