Woman allegedly assaulted after party in Bridlington

A WOMAN was allegedly assaulted and left with a swollen lip, bruises, cuts and grazes after a party in Bridlington.

Police are on the look out for witnesses to the altercation, in which a 52-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted on the corner of Pinfold Street and Marton Road in Bridlington at around 1.30am on Saturday June 9.

The 52-year-old left a party and walked a short distance before sitting down on a park bench, when she was joined by two other women.

A conversation took place between them, at which point one of the other women is alleged to have assaulted the 52-year-old.

The other woman attempted to intervene in the physical altercation, which is believed to have spilled out on to the road.

The victim sustained a swollen, bruised top lip, various cuts and grazes to her elbows, knees & head and a large mark down her right cheek, continuing onto her neck. She did not receive hospital treatment.

Police arrested a 41-year-old woman in connection with the incident. She has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
