Wheelie bins fire attack

POLICE are investigating an arson attack where two wheelie bins were deliberately set alight two wheelie bins after placing them on Flamborough village green.

It happened around midnight on Thursday November 3 and the bins were put next to a metal fence and gate leading into the playground on Mereside.

The fire caused damage to a sign and safety matting within the playground area.

Both police and firefighters were called to the scene at the time but a local search by police failed to find the culprits.

Detectives investigating the arson are asking for anyone who may have any information or witnessed anything suspicious at the time of the incident to contact them on the new non emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number CW/1873635/2011.
