A Bridlington woman has started the New Year with a helping hand around her home and garden after winning a competition in the Free Press.

Paula Hemingway, of Kingsgate, scooped the top prize of a £50 voucher in the competition run by Age UK East Riding.

The competition was held to celebrate the launch of the Home & Garden Gift Voucher Service.

The voucher will entitle Mrs Hemingway to either five hours of gardening work, or four hours of work around the home such as decorating, joinery or tiling, to be carried out by one of the Charity’s team of maintenance operatives.

Age UK East Riding offers its Home and Garden Maintenance Service to anyone living in the East Riding over the age of 50, disabled or caring for an older person.

Further details for the Home & Garden Maintenance Service, or to purchase gift vouchers, are available from the Age UK East Riding office in Beverley, on 01482 867383 and select option 2.
