Watch out, there could be a burglar about.
This is the advice given to Bridlington residents by police in the town, who today ran a burglary awareness initiative along residential streets.
Community Safety Volunteers, along with PCSOs and police officers were knocking on doors along Queensgate, and the surrounding area, targeting homes with easy access for burglars, such as with open front windows.
Billy the Burglar also demonstrated a live burglary at Claire Ball’s house in Queensgate.
Sergeant Simon Vickers said: “The stark reality, and the message behind this is that burglaries don’t just happen at night, burglaries can happen any time, and can be by anyone.”
