Bridlington’s inshore and all weather lifeboats were called into action this morning, after a boat beached off the south pier.
The Serene, which works out of Bridlington Harbour, was heading back into the harbour this morning at around 9.30am when it ran into trouble.
Andy Brompton, of Bridlington RNLI, said: “It came in a bit close, the gear went over and filled the prop and he has not been able to turn back out to sea and got pushed ashore.
“The inshore lifeboat went out to the boat and took off three of the four man crew, and left second coxswain Stuart Tibbett with the skipper.”
Bridlington’s all weather lifeboat was launched just before 11am, and Mr Brompton says that a pump will be fitted before waiting for tides to turn to tow the boat back into Bridlington Harbour later today.
