Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash which has left a seven-year-old boy in a critical condition.

A Vauxhall Vectra and a Vauxhall Corsa were involved in the collision which took place yesterday at 12.15 on the B1242 Hornsea Road.

The boy traveling in the Vectra was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment to serious, life-threatening injuries and remains in a serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

Two adults and a two-year-old girl also travelling in the Vectra received minor injuries and have since been discharged from hospital following treatment.

The driver of the Corsa received minor injuries in the collision and was discharged from hospital following treatment.

Officers investigating the circumstances of the collision are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have seen either vehicle on the B1242 Hornsea Road prior to the collision.
