Police update on Bridlington crash

Humberside Police have issued an update in relation to information they provided the Bridlington Free Press on a road traffic accident.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Further to an article published in the Bridlington Free Press last week, the article stated that a man was charged with a road traffic offence and was released on police bail to appear in February 2015.

“This is not correct, a man has been released on police bail pending further enquires, no charge has brought at this stage of the investigation.”

Bill Emmerson, chairman of Bridlington Cricket Club, was hospitlised following incident.

He was transported to Scarborough Hospital with serious injuries ater being hit by the car as he walked along a Station road.

The incident happened around 8pm on Saturday evening as he was walking along Station Avenue.

It involved a Renault Clio car which mounted the pavement.
