A building site manager in the Bridlington area has landed a major national award.

Tony Barrowclough, a manager at McCarthy and Stone’s Chestnut Court development, is celebrating after picking up a Pride in the Job award from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

Tony triumphed over 16,000 entrants in the NHBC’s Quality awards, which recognise site managers across the country who are at the top of their profession, and who consistently demonstrate outstanding quality throughout the construction process.

The judging process was rigorous, with judges conducting spot checks at individual construction sites to assess the day-to-day running. Each site manager was then assessed across 37 different areas of management; from technical knowledge to quality control of their working development.

Alan Richards, construction director for McCarthy and Stone said: “My congratulations go to Tony, who’s been recognised for his excellent work ethic and outstanding performance. It’s such an honour to receive this prestigious award, and it truly is a testament to the hard-work and quality that goes into each McCarthy and Stone development. People like Tony are the reason we’re able to deliver such high standards and specifications of housing, and we’re so proud to have people like him as part of our team.”

It’s been a year of awards for the company, having recently achieved the five star customer service satisfaction rating for an 11th consecutive year from the Home Builders Federation.
