INTREPID skateboarders, BMXers, scooter riders and rollerbladers flocked to Bridlington’s Gasworx skate park last week for the town’s very first ‘Skate Jam’.

Professional skateboarder Paul Regan was on hand to demonstrate boarding skills and new tricks at the event held at the park near Moorfield Road car park last Monday.

The event was hosted by Bridlington Town Council in partnership with East Riding council’s youth service, and Coun Shelagh Finlay said: “It was an excellent day. The turnout was marvellous and we saw all sorts of tricks from the riders. It was a nice mix of ages as well.

“There were a few rain showers which were a shame but everyone still had a lot of fun.”

Skate Jam was free and open to all ages and abilities, and also featured ball games in the MUGA from 1pm to 4pm, while the road safety and bike coding teams were also on hand.
