International chart topping band The Script are to play at The Spa Bridlington this July.
The band’s Spa date follows hot on the heels of their sell-out UK arena tour and sees them become the latest in a string of top name acts to perform at the venue, which has recently hosted the Kaiser Chiefs, The XX and Jack White.
Andrew Aldis, general manager at the Spa, said: “Being the largest indoor venue on the Yorkshire Coast, even with a capacity of almost 4,000, The Spa Bridlington is renowned for its intimacy and we are delighted to bring an international act, up close and personal, whatever the weather.”
Since releasing their debut album nearly five years ago Danny, Mark and Glen of The Script have toured with some of the world’s greatest artists including U2, Take That and Paul McCartney, have sold over four million albums, and 10 million singles.
The band have amassed more than four million followers on Facebook, 1.5 million on Twitter, wracked up 100 million YouTube views and have seen their leads singer Danny become a household name as a coach on the BBC’s Saturday night TV talent show The Voice.
Their first album, featuring hit songs ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’ and ‘Breakeven’, hit the top spot in Ireland and the UK. This success was repeated by their second album which also reached number 3 in the USA and featured smash hits ‘For the First Time’ and ‘Nothing’.
In 2012 they released their third studio album, ‘#3’ striking gold within just two weeks of the album’s release and spawning a hit single in ‘Hall of Fame’ featuring Will.i.am, which was number one for two weeks running.
Earlier this year their UK Arena Tour sold out in a week, with more dates added to meet demand.
The Script will play at the Spa on Friday July 12. Tickets are £32.50 plus £3.50 booking fee and go on sale to the general public on Friday April 26 at 9.30am.
